Columbiana-September 7, 2006-Lillian M. Foster Lucas, age 97, died at 2:05 p.m. Thursday at Parkside Health Care Center where she has lived the past 5 A½ years.
Mrs. Lucas was born August 3, 1909 in East Liverpool, a daughter of Arthur and Susie Hobbs Parker and had lived in this area all of her life.
She was a finisher for Louthan Manufacturing in East Liverpool for 17 years and had been a housemother for the Boys Home in Oakdale, PA for 10 years retiring in 1969. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Leetonia where she had been active in the Ruth Bible Class. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Columbiana.
Her first husband, Robert Foster, whom she married October 19, 1925, died April 22, 1965. Her second husband, George Lucas, whom she married February 13, 1968 died May 5, 1981.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Marjorie L. McElroy Fickes of Columbiana; her son, Robert G. (Barbara) Foster of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Maurice, Harry, Arthur and Wayne Parker and a grandson, Edgar Foster.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church of Leetonia with Pastor Cheryl Vanatsky officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
