Leroy W. Walker

New Waterford, OH-February 21, 2010-Leroy W. Walker, 93, of 48533 State Route 14 died at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Salem Community Hospital due to complications of cancer.

Mr. Walker was born November 23, 1916 in Vinland, Kansas, a son of Will and Imo Baer Walker and had lived in this area the past eleven years.

Leroy was a shipping clerk for Haley Brothers in Los Angels, CA for 24 years. He served in the US Army during World War II.

He is survived by his loving caregivers, William and Juliette Braden with whom he made his home; two nieces, Lila Straw and Wilma Miller of Madison, KS; and a nephew, Clifford Sells of Menifee, CA.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Columbiana Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, OH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Haiti Project c/o the Columbiana Baptist Church, 44420 Heck Road Columbiana, OH 44408.
