Leila M. Mccamon

Columbiana - Leila M. McCamon, 91, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 5, 2016 at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman.

Mrs. McCamon was born November 4, 1924 in New Springfield, a daughter of the late Clark and Alice (Heck) Reesh and had lived in this area all of her life.

Leila was a homemaker and very active member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Columbiana. She loved sewing, gardening, shopping and traveling. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Jerusalem Lutheran Preschool and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Her husband, Wayne R. McCamon, whom she married December 8, 1946 died February 10, 2013.

She is survived by two sons, Alan (Dinah) McCamon of Columbiana and Kevin McCamon of Leetonia; six grandchildren, Jena (Brian) Gustafson, Scott (Tara) Wilms, Dustin (Emily) Wilms, Kristin (Chris) Hawkins, Phillip (Lita) McCamon and Taylor McCamon; and five great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Laurie Wilms and her sister, Elouise Wilhelm.

Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana. A private funeral ceremony will be held Saturday with burial to follow in Columbiana Cemetery.
