Columbiana February 10, 2004 - Leah Mae Sitler, age 95, of 327 Quincy Avenue died at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday in the Parkside Health Care Center, where she had been a patient for two months.
Mrs. Sitler was born May 13, 1908 in Rogers, daughter of Edd and Mary Crawford Crawford and had lived in Columbiana since 1927.
She was the oldest living member of the Grace United Church of Christ and had been a member for 77 years. She was a member of its Queen Esther Class and the Quilters.
Her husband, Robert Chalmer Sitler whom she married September 7, 1927, preceded her in death October 16, 1983.
Two sons, Dale (Miriam) Sitler and Wayne (Pat) Sitler, both of Columbiana; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren survive Mrs. Sitler.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lala Chamberlain, Myrtle Toot, Freda Moore; and a brother, Raymond Crawford.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Boehm officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
