Laura Evelyn Norton

New Waterford - March 5, 2005 - Laura Evelyn Norton, 74, of the Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana, formerly of New Waterford, died at 10:47 p.m. Saturday at the Salem Community Hospital.

Mrs. Norton was born December 16, 1930 in Industry, PA, a daughter of Garfield and Laura Deem Riggs and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of Christ, East Palestine.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Timothy (Donna) Fegert of East Palestine; four sons, Alfred Felger of New Waterford, Dennis Felger and David (Paula) Felger, both of East Palestine, and Dale (Tina) Felger of Tucson, AZ; two brothers, Eugene (Geraldine) Riggs and Bernard (Charlene) Riggs, both of New Waterford; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by seven sisters, Florence Hogue, Mildred Williams, Dorothy Montgomery, Mary Renn, Arlene Borelli, Edith Riggs, and Bernice Ash and three brothers, Garfield Riggs, Jr., Harry Riggs and John Riggs.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine with the Reverend John Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday.
