Larry A. Johnson

East Palestine - Larry A. Johnson, 71, of Wallace Ave. passed away Monday evening, November 14, 2016 at Brighton Wellness and Rehabilitation Center, Beaver, PA following a long illness.

Mr. Johnson was born August 16, 1945 in Sebring, a son of the late Claude E. and Margaret Cox Johnson Mahon and had lived in this area most of his life.

Larry was a truck driver for various companies including Franklin Furniture and retired as a machinist for Q-Cast in Rochester, PA. He was a member of Aerie#2415 Fraternal Order of Eagles, New Waterford and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #467 in East Palestine. Larry served in the US Air Force during Vietnam.

Larry is survived by his wife, the former Gloria Cox DeSanzo, whom he married September 14, 1984; two daughters, Michelle Johnson of Salineville and Shelly (James) Butler of Beaver Falls, PA; four sons, Larry Dale Johnson of Salineville, Lonnie Dean (Vanessa) Johnson of Lisbon, Bill DeSanzo, Jr. and Michael (Donna) DeSanzo both of New Brighton, PA; two sisters, Sherry (Donald) Bishop of New Waterford and Linda Hill of Sebring; a brother, Claude "Bubs" Johnson of South Vienna, OH; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Paul Johnson, a sister, Jacqueline Morgan and two brothers, Gary and Charles Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Paul Camp officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
