Leetonia – Larry E. Altomare, 80, of 166 Elm Street, died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his home following a long illness.
Mr. Altomare was born November 5, 1934 in Salem, a son of the late Ralph M. and Susan M. (Altomare) Altomare and had lived here all of his life.
He had been employed as a supervisor at the former Dan Dee Chip Company in Leetonia for several years and had also owned and operated his own snack food route. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Leetonia.
Larry is survived by his wife, the former Judy M. Lipe, whom he married July 28, 1956; three sons, Ralph A. Altomare of Salem, Ronald A. Altomare of Leetonia, and Larry J. Altomare of Leetonia; a daughter, Jennifer M. Altomare of Akron; two sisters, Nancy L. Altomare of Leetonia and Mary E. Ross of Leetonia; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A daughter, Karen Sue Altomare, a sister, Santa M. Wyss, and a brother John R. Altomare are deceased.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Wassie officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
