Leetonia - February 4, 2006 - Kimberly (Kim) Evans, 43, of 509 Cherry Fork Avenue, passed away at her home with her family by her side at 2:45 p.m. Saturday following a four month battle with cancer.
She was born in Salem, Ohio on December 30, 1962; the daughter of Robert C. Porter of Salem and the late Judith Ann (Bowman) Jones.
She had been employed as a cashier at the Giant Eagle in Salem for six years. She was the President of the Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 5532 in Washingtonville and was active in District #6 of the V.F.W.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald (Jerry) Evans of Leetonia; her father and stepmother, Robert and Marcie Porter of Salem; two daughters, Krystal Ann Senior of Columbiana and Mrs. Joe (Samantha) Gregory of Lisbon; two sons, Jerry (Sheila) Evans of Boardman and Gary (Brooke) Evans of Homeworth; a brother, Tyler (Jenn) Jones of Poland; two sisters, Kelley Jones of Leetonia and Tricia Jones of Houston, TX; a grandmother, Mrs. Ellen Miller of Salem; six grandchildren, Alexis Gregory and Madison Gregory of Lisbon, Collin Evans of Homeworth, and Haley, Kobi, and Kayla Evans of Boardman; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Judith and Richard Jones; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Violet Bowman and Charles and Evelyn Porter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Mr. Phil Kinsey officiating. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday.
