Kent G. Rouse

Washingtonville - Kent G. Rouse, 81, of 185 School Street, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Mr. Rouse was born June 19, 1931 in Lisbon, a son of the late LeRoy and Lillian Perkins Rouse and lived in this area all of his life. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He had been employed as a machinist at the NRM Corporation for several years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty J. Shimer Rouse, two sisters, Eris Smith and AnnOla Wolthuis; and three brothers, LeRoy "Sonny" Rouse, Dale Rouse, and Rennis Rouse.

He is survived by his second wife, Mary Webster Holman Rouse; two sons, Kent Rouse, Jr. of Salem and Ray Shimer of Summerfield, NC; two step sons, David Holman of Tucson, AZ and Richard Holman of Hopewell, PA; and a sister, Carol J. Murphy of Salem.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery where the Salem Honor Guard will accord military honors. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
