Kathy Allen

Boardman-Kathy Allen, 63, of Boardman, passed away Thursday morning, April 21, 2016, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a long illness.

Mrs. Allen was born August 19, 1952 in Boardman, a daughter of Steven and Catherine Bernat Sopkovich and had lived in this area all of her life.

Kathy had been a hairdresser and then worked in the banking industry for several area banks. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Twin State Auto Club. She loved roller-skating and racing, especially NASCAR. Kathy also refereed volleyball.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Daniel Allen, whom she married April 8, 1999; her son, Steven (Dee) Pihonsky of Ramsey, Minnesota; two grandsons, Conner and Noah Pihonsky; her mother, Catherine Sopkovich of Youngstown; and two step daughters, Julie Pauly of Virginia Beach, VA and Lori (Sadie) Allen of St. Christian Mississippi.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, April 25, 2016, at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend Philip Rogers officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Sunday and 10-11 am Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery.
