Kathryn Jean Conkle

East Palestine, OH-November 11, 2009-Kathryn Jean Conkle, 82, of 5750 Bye Road, died at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Community Hospital.

Mrs. Conkle was born September 18, 1927 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late Harry and Freda Potts Henderson and had lived in the area all her life.

Kathryn was a homemaker and a member of the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren, Columbiana.

Her husband, Donald J. Conkle., whom she married May 27, 1946, died December 29, 1993.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Richard) Reese of New Waterford and Beverly Conkle of East Palestine; two sons, Orville (Sharon) Hissom of Kent and Paul A. (Melanie) Conkle of Negley; a sister, Grace (Ken) Lingenfelter of Arcade, NY; six grandchildren, Tina (Bummer) McCoy of New Waterford, Cynthia Hubbard of East Palestine, Heather Hissom of Gahanna, OH, Zachary Conkle of Negley, Robert Conkle of Negley and Brandon (Casey) Conkle of East Palestine; and three great grandchildren, Shayla Hubbard, Peyton Conkle and Jordan McCague.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen McCreary and two brothers, John and Leroy Henderson.

At her request, there are no calling hours or services.

Memorial tributes may be made to the Negley Fire Department.
