Kathleen M. Curran Baylin

North Lima, OH - Kathleen M. Baylin, age 95, of North Lima, formerly of Penryn, California, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Willow Woods Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in North Lima.

She was born on January 31, 1930, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Lee F. Curran and Mary L. (Stanton) Curran.

Kathleen had worked as a dental hygienist on a Native American reservation. She enjoyed travel, antiques, raising sheep, and spinning. After living in California for most of her adult life, she chose to return to Columbiana where she had spent much of her formative years being raised by her Stanton grandparents. She had many fond stories of her younger life in North Lima and Columbiana. Her love of reading was encouraged by an uncle who, late to pick her up from the train station, said, "Why, Katie, don't you have a book to keep you busy?"

Katie is survived by a son, William (Mary) Paulin of Australia; daughter, Maureen (Nathan) Walton of Las Vegas, NV; and a granddaughter, Colleen Walton, as well as her cousins Tom (Jill) Stanton of Alexandria, VA and Anthony (Ann Mertz) Stanton of Glenshaw, PA. Her goddaughter Wendy Boyles of New Waterford had a special place in her heart.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her first husband, William Paulin, their son, John S. Paulin, her second husband, Allan B. Baylin of California, and her sister June O'Brien Pritchard.

Per Katie's wishes, no services will be held.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
