Kari Simon Novak

COLUMBIANA - Kari Simon Novak, 34, of Columbiana, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at her home with her family at her side.

Kari was born July 2, 1981 in Canton, OH, a daughter of Bruce R. and Jean Ann Richardson Simon. She had been employed as a day care teacher, last working at Building Blocks Daycare, Columbiana. She enjoyed animals, especially working with horses. In later years, she became interested in butterflies and birdwatching. She was a member of Real Life Assembly of God, Salem.

She is survived by her mother, Jean Ann Simon of Columbiana; her husband, Ronald W. Novak, whom she married May 22, 2010; a sister, Melissa (Mark Marlow) Malcomson of Campbell, OH; maternal grandparents, Beverly Richardson of Columbiana and Tom Richardson of New Waterford; paternal grandfather, Charles Simon, Sr. of Fremont, OH; nieces and nephews, Kody Watkins, Katrina Watkins, Billy Novak, Jennifer Fellows, and Michelle Fellows; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Kari was preceded in death by her father, Bruce R. Simon and her paternal grandmother, Marilyn Simon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastors Mike J. McHale and Melva Libb officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the services on Friday.
