June Ellen Wolford

Columbiana - January 16, 2009 - June Ellen Wolford, 84, formerly of Fairfield Avenue, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday at Essex of Salem II.

Mrs. Wolford was born April 2, 1924 in Peninsula, OH, a daughter of the late Charles W. and Emma G. Peterson Whitson and had lived in this area most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Church of Columbiana and the Women's Guild of the church. She was also a member of the Columbiana TOPS Club and had worked with Meals on Wheels for 12 years.

Her husband, John F. Wolford, whom she married November 21, 1945 died December 27, 1985.

She is survived by two daughters, Connie (Gary) Scullion and Carol Scott, both of Columbiana; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Jo (Steve) Barnett of Canal Fulton and Jodi Lynn Scott of Mansfield.

Two sisters, Marie McGuire and Billie Clark and two brothers, Charles Whitson and Jack Whitson are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with the Reverend Doctor Robert C. Joy officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Monday.

If friends desire, material tributes may take the form of a donation to the Women's Guild of Grace Church.
