Negley, May 1, 2004, June V. Blum, age 79, of 50738 Richardson Avenue, died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday at the Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.
Mrs. Blum was born May 17, 1924 in Negley, the daughter of Glen and Ethel Ward Cole and had lived here all of her life.
She was the co-owner, with her late husband, of the G. Wylie Blum Trucking for 35 years, retiring in 1984. Prior to that, she had been employed as a secretary at the former West Darlington Clay Company.
She was a member of the Negley United Methodist Church. She also attended many sporting events as a Bulldog Fan and later as a ticket taker at these events.
Her husband, G. Wylie Blum, whom she married August 17, 1947 died April 20, 1995.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ron (Cindy) Dunn of Negley; a son, Greg (Leslie) Blum of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, Josh Dunn, Mrs. Doug (Natalie) Dattilio, Abby Dunn, Zac Dunn, Allie Blum, and Cole Blum; one great grandson, Hayden Dattilio; and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Negley United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dennis Devorick and the Reverend Charles Ready officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine and at the church one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
If friends desire, material tributes may take the form of a donation to the church memorial fund.
