Julie Lynn (Wirks) Masony

Medina, OH-December 14, 2008-Julie Lynn (Wirks) Masony, 35, died at 2:28 a.m. Sunday at her home in Medina following a long battle with cancer.

Before moving to Medina, Julie had resided in the Brecksville and Cuyahoga Falls area after growing up in East Palestine, OH.

She was a 1991 graduate of East Palestine High School and a graduate of Bowling Green State University. Julie worked as regulatory affairs specialist for GOJO Industries in Akron, OH.

She is survived by her husband, Jason M. Masony, whom she married July 2, 2005; her mother, Marian (Blinkiewicz) Horner of Darlington, PA; her father and step mother, Thomas and Jeannine Wirks of East Palestine, OH; a brother, Eric T. Wirks of Atlanta, GA; her mother and father in law, Lynn and Howard Masony of Avon Lake, OH; maternal grandmother, Lena Blinkiewicz of Darlington, PA; and paternal grandmother, Phyllis Wirks of East Palestine, OH.

A brother, Thomas J. Wirks II preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, OH with Reverend Mr. David Lundeen officiating.

Friends may call from 1:30-4 and 6-9pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
