Columbiana - Judy Elaine Stevens passed away peacefully Sunday October 19, 2025 with her son Larry Bruce Stevens at her side.
Judy was born on July 2, 1939, in Leetonia, Ohio to Margaret Snell and Willis N Toland. She grew up in Leetonia Ohio, attending Leetonia High School until she married Larry A. Stevens 29 December 1955. They raised two boys, Jeffrey Alan and Larry Bruce Stevens.
Judy was not a sit at home mom, once the boys were in school, she joined the Kindergarten Mothers, became a room mother, joined Mothers Club, and Women’s Club (serving as Vice President). She was a proud supporter of the boys’ sports, Little League, football, baseball and all school activities. Not only was she a proud Clipper Fan, but also rooted for Buckeyes, Browns, Indians and the Akron Zips.
Living on Lakeview, they were reserve seat holders at Firestone Stadium and enjoyed the Park and kids of every age. She enjoyed bowling on the Thursday morning Early Bird league, competing with her sisters Peggy and Bobby, becoming fast friends with her church and bowling buddy Anne Brown.
She worked at Lordstown General Motors until Larry and her retired. She was an avid reader, not only the Bible but best-selling authors. She was a weekly visitor to the Columbiana Library. She collected P Buckley Moss paintings and loved to shop!
A lifelong member of the Methodist church community of Leetonia, Washingtonville and Columbiana. She was baptized in Leetonia Methodist. Larry and she joined Washingtonville Robbins United Methodist in 1962, and last joining First United Methodist of Columbiana. She served on various committees within the church, attending Sunday School, Bible study, serving ham dinners, working the consignment shop and collecting for Christina House.
She was a member of the Historical Society of Columbiana and Fairfield Township, currently serving as a trustee and enjoying the history of Columbiana and hosting during the summer months and selling tickets at Street Fair.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, husband Larry, son Jeffrey.
She is survived by a son, Larry (Xuan) Bruce; two granddaughters, Aurora and Ava, two grandsons, Joshua and Nathan; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel, with Pastor Cyndi Midlick officiating.
In leu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 210 South Main Street, Columbiana, Ohio 44408, Christina House in care of the Church as well does this work.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
