Judy Kay Bryan

Columbiana - Judy Kay Bryan, age 86, of Columbiana, died on Monday, April 13, 2026, at her home in Columbiana.

She was born on September 15, 1939, in Lisbon, daughter of the late Walter J. and Mary Davidson Kampfer.

Judy graduated from David Anderson High School in 1957 and was a 1960 graduate of Bowling Green State University. She had worked as a teacher for Lisbon and Southern Local and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana. At the church she was an elder, deacon and Sunday schoolteacher. She volunteered with the host program at Crestview, Headstart and was a bell ringer for the Salvation Army.

Judy is survived by her husband, John "Jack" Victor Bryan, whom she married on August 28, 1960; a daughter, Mary (Ken Lay) Bryan of Cincinnati; two sons, Scott (Amy) Bryan of Louisville and James (Lorie) Bryan of Chester, WV; five grandchildren, Emily, Garrick, Julie, Leon and Torie and three great grandchildren, Posy, Bea and George and a sister-in-law, Marge Kampfer of Columbiana.

She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Chloe Lucas, a sister, Patricia MacAleese and a brother, Keith Kampfer.

Judy’s family would like to thank her Hospice care team from Patriot Hospice for their compassionate and excellent care.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana with Pastor Fritz Nelson officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
