East Palestine-December 11, 2011-Joseph E. Crowl, 54, of East Palestine passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Hospice House in Poland, OH following a brief illness.
Born April 1, 1957 to the late Robert and Vivian Sutherin Crowl in Salem, he was a resident of East Palestine all of his life.
Joseph worked at Columbiana Floral for 24 years and attended Fairview Reformed Presbyterian Church in Industry, PA.
Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Moore Crowl; one sister, Cheryl Crowl (Harry) Stacey of East Palestine; two brothers, Robert (Janice) Crowl of East Palestine and Jerry (Linda) Crowl of Beaver Falls, PA; two step-children, Mary Ann (Jim) Borelli of East Palestine and Marc (Dawn) Mushnok of Pittsburgh, PA; four step-grandchildren, Amanda, Brett, Emily and Madison; two aunts, Roberta Soldo and Charlotte Murphy of East Palestine; one uncle, Harry Crowl, Jr. of East Palestine; a special niece, Dr. Lori Crowl; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special friends, Adeline Ungaro and Jean Randolph.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Jeremy Crowl.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Reverend Richard L. Raines officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may call Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 6-8 pm and Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank all who generously donated monetary gifts, groceries, support and prayers during this difficult time.
