Columbiana - September 30, 2005 - John C. 'Jack' Thompson, Sr., age 75, of 331 West Salem Street died at 12:49 p.m. Friday in the Cleveland Clinic.

He was born Dec. 14, 1929 in St. Clairsville, son of John B. and Olga C. Edminston Thompson.

He had lived in Columbiana County for most of his life and was Methodist by faith.

Mr. Thompson had been an assembler at the former National Rubber Machinery Co. in Columbiana for 40 years, retiring in 1992, then worked at Mitsubishi in Leetonia for four years. He had been a Security Policeman at the Canfield Fair for 18 years. H e was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #316 at Salem and the and New Lisbon Lodge F&AM #65 at Lisbon. He had been a Little League coach in Leetonia and had been an avid roller skater most of his life.

Surviving are his wife in the eyes of the Lord, Beverly Bruno; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Diana) Young of Leetonia; two sons, John C. Thompson, Jr. of Palm Coast FL, and Ricki L. Thompson of Lisbon; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Deanna) Barnes of Lisbon; a brother, Harry Paul Thompson of Midland, PA; eleven grandchildren, among them Nicole Buffone, Christopher Hall, Kevin Thompson, Jr. and Sarah Thompson; and six great-grandchildren, Shane, Cierra, Nakoa, Anna and Joby.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Diana L. Thompson; a son, Kevin Thompson; two sisters, Wilma Vietmeire and Phyllis Thompson; four brothers, James, Robert, Richard and Gene Thompson.

His brother, Harry Paul Thompson, will conduct a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana.
