John F. Koch

Columbiana-John F. Koch, 60, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 unexpectedly at his home.

He was born October 6, 1956 in Salem, a son of Frederic J. and Barbra Johnson Koch.

John was an innate, fundamental strength of the Koch Motor Company which spanned his lifetime. His great grandfather, John Koch, Sr. founded the company in 1912 selling Model T's. John F. Koch joined the sales staff in 1975, making him the fourth generation to be involved in the business until it was sold in 1995.

John was revered by his colleagues, customers, many friends and acquaintances with great humor and passion for the industry. He also loved boating, camping and race cars. He was also an avid animal lover.

He is survived by his loving wife Misa Guido Koch, whom he married April 9, 2010; his mother, Barbra Koch of Ft. Myers, FL, step mother, Susan Koch of Columbiana; two sisters, Heidi Koch of Ft. Myers, FL and Jenifer (Michael) Bicknese of Cape Coral, FL; a brother, Eric (Ela) Koch of Ft. Myers, FL; a step sister, Elizabeth Stief of Atlanta, GA; two step children, Laura Meade and Paul Billet; two beautiful grandchildren Will and Layla; his loving niece Mariah and three loving nephews, Michael, Mitchel and Devon.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Stefanie Koch Frankle.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 3:30 pm at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Friends will be received from 2:30 pm-3:30 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in memory of John may be made to Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion, Columbiana, an animal shelter, or charity of the donor's choice.
