John Robert Kellner

COLUMBIANA – John Robert Kellner, 92, of Columbiana, died at 11:53 a.m., Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Hospice House, Poland.

Mr. Kellner was born March 6, 1923 in Columbiana, a son of the late Frank and Myra Nold Kellner and had lived here all of his life.

He was a school bus driver for North Lima/South Range Schools for 30 years and also worked at South Range as a custodian. He was also a self-employed farmer and milk hauler, had worked at the East Fairfield Coal Tipple, and at Sheely's Furniture. He was a member of Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ, North Lima.

He is survived by his wife, the former, Edith Elizabeth Martin, whom he married November 20, 1948; two daughters, Evelyn Ernst of Salem and her daughter, Debbie (William) May and their children, Lydia, twins, Matilda and Natasha, and Gwendolyn, and Marilyn Cavanaugh of Columbiana and her daughters, Rochelle (Jesse) Wright and their children, Madison and Alexis and Kristen (Joe) Cataneo and their children, Hannah and Levi; two sons, Joel A. Kellner of Newton Falls and his children, Rachel (Eric) Oliver and their children, Haley and Eric, Jacob Kellner, and Kori (Brian Drake) Kellner and their child, Mia, and William (Joy) Kellner of New Waterford and their daughter, Jamie Kellner.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Kellner; and adopted brothers, Ivan and Frank Ludt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor David Howell and Pastor Jerry Kruse officiating. Burial will follow in Midway Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 pm Tuesday (today) and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
