John Allen Freed, Sr

East Palestine - John Allen Freed, Sr., 61, of 50925 Hadley Road, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Covington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Freed was born October 19, 1949 in New Galilee, PA, a son of the late Delmer J. and Mary Sherrill Freed and had lived in this area most of his life. He had been employed as an iron cutter at Feezle's Auto Wrecking for several years.

He is survived by three sons, John Freed, Jr. of Petersburg, Greg Freed and Doug Freed, both of Unity; two brothers, Robert Freed of Unity and Jim Freed of Enon Valley, PA; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with the Reverend Allen Gray officiating. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
