Columbiana - JoAnn McLaughlin, age 77, of Columbiana, died on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, Boardman.
She was born on June 25, 1946, in Port Chester, NY, a daughter of the late Archelle and Antoinette Poccia Petrucci, Sr.
JoAnn devoted her life to her husband and her family. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, needlework, and traveling. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved attending all her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and was happiest when she was able to spend time with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her husband, Lawrence Neil McLaughlin, whom she married on January 17, 1969, preceded her in death on, April 20, 2019.
JoAnn is survived by her two daughters, Marlene (James “Sparrow”) Figley of East Palestine, and Melissa (Michael) Hopfenziz of Columbiana; her brother, Archelle (Marie) Petrucci Jr. of Mamaroneck, NY; seven grandchildren, James (Ashley Victoria) Figley, Nicholas Figley, Neil Figley, Amelia (Brandon) Dietterich, Matthew (Lexie James) Hopfenziz, Olivia Hopfenziz, and Erik Hopfenziz; three great grandchildren, Harlie Figley, Alexander Dietterich, and Oaklynn Hopfenziz. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Stella Lerza, and a nephew, Tony Lerza.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 6:00 pm, at the funeral home, with Pastor Matt Doerle officiating.
JoAnn will be laid to rest with her husband at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio
