Joan Woods

Columbiana - March 1, 2008 - Joan Woods, 77, of 104 Park Court, died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday at the Salem Community Hospital.

Mrs. Woods was born April 21, 1930 in Darlington, PA, a daughter of Oscar F. and Cora H. Munyon McGath. She had lived in Columbiana the past two years, coming from Las Vegas, NV.

She had been employed as a maintenance supervisor at the Gold Strike Casino, Boulder City, NV retiring in 2000.

Her husband, George Robert Woods, whom she married Nov. 23, 1949 died January 15, 1992.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Barbara) Karboski of Henderson, NV; two sons, Jon (Robin) Woods of Columbiana and Robert (Carol) Woods of Lisbon; four sisters, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Huston of Washingtonville, Lois Birch of East Palestine, Sally McIntosh of Guilford Lake, and Bernice Lagese of Thousand Oaks, CA; a brother, Sonny Kennedy of Glen Burnie, MD; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
