Leetonia – Jean Holt, 61, of Leetonia, died suddenly at 9:04 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Salem Regional Medical Center after being stricken at home.
Jean was born August 9, 1952 in Salem, the daughter of Robert H. and Rosemary Stevens Stambaugh and had lived here all of her life. She was a 1970 graduate of Leetonia High School where she was valedictorian and attended Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA for two years and then transferred to Bowling Green State University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Jean later earned her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Baldwin Wallace College.
She was employed as Financial Officer for Green Harvest Rail the past five years. Prior to that, she was a Commercial Loan Officer for several local banks including Perpetual Savings Bank, Home Savings and Loan, New Waterford Bank, and Bank One. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Leetonia and was active in many community organizations including the Leetonia Alumni Association and the Columbiana County Community Action Agency.
Besides her mother, of Salem, she is survived by her husband, Dennis J. Holt, whom she married April 1, 1997; a brother, David (Sherrin) Stambaugh of Leetonia; and a niece and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Robert H. Stambaugh, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia from 4-7 p.m. Friday and at the church one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Memorial tributes may be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Brick Fund.
