East Palestine April 15, 2005 -Jean Elizabeth Black, age 59, of 50723 State Route 14 died at 3:00 a.m. Friday in the Caprice Healthcare Center, Youngstown.

She was born July 23, 1945 in Salem, daughter of Walter and Jean Morgan Smith.

Mrs. Black had been a housewife and lived in East Palestine for all her life.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Odle Black whom she married June 24, 1972; three step-daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Donna) Welch of Salem, Mrs. George (Nancy) Faulkner of East Palestine, and Diana Hightland of Salem; a step-son, John (Evelyn) Black of Negley; two brothers Robert Smith of Cushing, OK, and Harry Smith of Salem.

A brother John Smith preceded Mrs. Black in death.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home with Mr. Robert Helbeck, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
