Janet Ilene Dickey

Columbiana- Janet Ilene Dickey, age 77, of Columbiana, died on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Salem Regional Medical Center.

She was born on October 26, 1937 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late Charles and Fern Peterson Gorby.

Janet was a member of Union Ridge Bible Baptist Church, Rogers and had worked at Parkside Restaurant for many years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Her husband, Lionel Dickey, whom she married on August 1, 1957, preceded her in death on November 8, 1987.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry (Mike) Bable of East Palestine and Cindy (Joe) Ackerman of Poland; two sons, Lionel "Lonnie" E. Dickey of Columbiana and Kevin Dickey of New Waterford; two sisters, Sandy (Joe) Pedro of Columbiana and Carol Crawford of Columbiana; two brothers, Charles (Frances) Gorby of New Waterford and John (Garnet) Gorby of Rogers. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Janet was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Gorby and a sister, Virginia Halderman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A private family committal service will be at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
