Jane A. Dodson

Columbiana-September 4, 2011-Jane Audrey Dodson, 72, died at 8:53 a.m. Sunday at Salem Community Hospital following a long illness.

Mrs. Dodson was born February 6, 1939 in Columbiana, a daughter of Curtis W. and Erma Meek Rapp and had lived in this area all of her life.

Jane was a customer service representative for Columbiana-Buick-Cadillac-Chevrolet for many years. She had also worked for Salem Community Hospital as an admitting clerk and as a receptionist for Dr. Louis Cosentino. She was Lutheran by faith.

She is survived by her husband, Carl R. Dodson, whom she married September 27, 1957; two daughters, Kimberly Mayer of Columbiana and Karla (David) Dee of New Waterford; her twin sister, Jean A. Caldwell of Columbiana; and her mother-in-law, Evelyn Dodson of Columbiana. She was affectionately known as Nana to her eight grandchildren, Justin (Valerie) Mayer, Courtney (Tyler) Mayer-Hoaglin, Bethany Mayer, Ashley Mayer, Autumn VanFossan, Jacob VanFossan, Sarah VanFossan and Benjamin VanFossan; and her first great grandson due to be born in December.

She was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Stewart and a brother, Donald Rapp.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
