Columbiana – Jane Lois Conner, age 93, of Columbiana, died on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Parkside Health Care Center.
She was born on March 1, 1921 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Louis and Jennie Hake Bergman.
Jane was a graduate of Boardman High School and had worked as an advertising assistant at McKelvey’s Department Store for many years.
She was a lifetime member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Boardman and was very active with the Senior Citizens where she had held several officer positions.
Jane enjoyed both photography and traveling with her husband.
Her husband, Carl Conner, whom she married on April 26, 1941, preceded her in death on February 26, 1996.
She is survived by a sister, Vivian (Arthur) Bierdeman of Boardman; her daughter in-law, Karen Conner of Anderson, IN; a granddaughter, Carla (John) Knowles of Anderson, IN and by a grandson, Jeffrey (Heidi) Conner of Pendleton, IN. Also surviving are six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Jane was preceded in death by her son, Fred W. Conner; two brothers, Ralph and Kenneth Bergman; two sisters, Beatrice Nief and Audrey Kissack, and by a grandson, Brian Conner.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 27, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Boardman.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Peter Haenftling officiating.
Burial will be at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Boardman.
Donations may be made to the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 280 Mill Creek Dr., Boardman, OH 44512.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
