Columbiana - James O. Romeo, 73, of Columbiana, died at 1:44 a.m. Sunday, September 14, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Boardman. Mr. Romeo was born October 26, 1940 in Columbiana, a son of the late James and Leora Miner Romeo and lived in this area all of his life. He was a graduate of Columbiana High School and served in the U.S. Army. He had been employed as a meat cutter at the Sparkle Market, Columbiana.
Jim enjoyed golfing, especially with his sons and brother, and also classic cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, the former Carol E. Prolenski; his former wife, Roberta Lower; his step daughters, Jaime (Shawn) Hannah of Liberty, Amanda (Dan) Mitchell of Canfield, Lisa (Zach) Massey of Wilmington, NC, and Christy (Scott) Gillette of Wilmington, NC; three sons, Rob (Saskia) Romeo of Lakewood, OH, Tom Romeo of Columbiana, and Lance (Stephanie) Romeo of New Middletown; and his grandchildren, Isabel and Theo Romeo; Zechary and Mathias Hansen; Jaxon Riley, Cynthia and Victoria Romeo, Lindsey and Landon Romeo; Taylor and Robbie Gillette, Avery Massey, and Cailin Mitchell.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Lee Romeo.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Mr. Nelson Mitchell officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 & 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
