East Palestine - Private graveside services were held Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at the Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery, New Galilee, PA for James G. McCowin, 66, formerly of South Washington Street, who died at 8:57 p.m. Sunday at the Salem Community Hospital. Mr. McCowin was born February 11, 1945 in Salem, a son of the late Guy and Katherine McGuckin McCowin and lived in the area all of his life. He had been employed as a laborer at the Insul Company, East Palestine for 30 years. His wife, the former Alice Mathey McCowin died February 1, 1999. Arrangements were made by the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine.
