Lisbon June 12, 2005 -James Donald Lewis, Sr., age 75, of 45437 Riffle Road lost his 11 year courageous battle with cancer at 12:54 p.m. Sunday in the Northside Medical Center.
He was born April 6, 1930 in Jackson Center PA, son of William J. and Minnie Mae Campbell Lewis. He had lived in Lisbon for eleven years coming from Youngstown where he had lived for 27 years, moving from Hubbard.
He had been a Crane Operator for the Wheatland Tube Company for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Erla E. Heister whom he married September 3, 1948; three sons, Paul (Kerstin) Lewis of Hubbard, James (Micki) Lewis, Jr. and Dennis Lewis, both of Lisbon; a brother, Gene 'Mick' Lewis of Jackson Center, PA, seven grandchildren, Matthew (Carrie) Lewis, Lisa Lewis, both of Hubbard, Sam (Nikki) Lewis of Dallas-Ft. Worth Texas, Dustin Lewis, Jeremy Lewis, Jake (Erika) Lewis and Jessica Lewis, all of Lisbon; and two great-grandchildren, Jakson Lewis and Ethan Lewis, both of Lisbon and many nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, William V. Lewis and Walter Carlson, preceded him in death.
Services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Thursday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, in Columbiana, with the Reverend Michael Adams of the West Point Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow in the Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call 5-8 Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
