James Edward Heaton

Columbiana-James Edward Heaton, 77, of Columbiana, passed away at 5:19 pm Sunday, February 15, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown.

Mr. Heaton was born November 7, 1937 in New Waterford, a son of Edward and Irene Moser Heaton and had lived in this area all of his life.

Jim was a slitter operator for Wheeling Pittsburgh Canfield Steel for 35 years. He loved NASCAR racing, professional wrestling, fishing in Canada, vacations with his entire family and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, the former, Nadine Cunningham, whom he married August 27, 1958; a daughter, Leslie Dawn Wilson of Columbiana; three sons, Steven Michael (Gail) Heaton of New Middletown, Jeffrey Scott Heaton of Columbiana and James Eric (Debra) Heaton of East Palestine; three grandchildren Cheyenne Heaton, Maggie Wilson and Jacob Wilson; a sister, Sara Ann (David) Burson of Rogers; and two brothers, Gerald Heaton of Youngstown and George (Dolly) Heaton of East Palestine.

A sister, Julia Radar and a brother, Edgar Lee Heaton preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Jan Winnale officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Wednesday and 11:00 am -noon Thursday at the funeral home.
