James A. Gidley

New Waterford, OH-March 18, 2007-James A. Gidley, age 97, of 787 Macklin Road, died at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Essex of Salem II.

Mr. Gidley was born February 8, 1910 in Morgantown, West Virginia, a son of George and Belle Sawyer Gidley and had lived in this area since 1999. Prior to that he had lived in Clearwater, FL.

Jim was a truck driver for many years hauling various things including Cocoa Cola, produce and coal. He was also a security guard for a motel in Florida.

He is survived by two daughters, Betty J. Melito of Morgantown, WV and Barbara A. (Robert) Shaw of New Waterford; four sons, James R. (Bonnie) Gidley of Bayville, NJ, David T. (Nancy) Gidley and Marvin L. (Harriet) Gidley of Morgantown, WV, and William V. (Pat) Gidley of Hammond, IN; twenty three grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth E. Gidley and Charles E. Gidley and two grandchildren.

There are no services. Burial will be in East Oak Grove Cemetery, Morgantown, WV.
