Dr. James A. Craig

Barberton - Dr. James A. Craig, 51, passed away Friday morning, August 12, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic following a short illness.

Dr. Craig was born May 24, 1965 in East Liverpool, the son of John and Lois Cosgrove Craig and had lived in Barberton the past three.

Jim was a graduate of East Palestine High School and The Ohio State University. He received his doctorate and had been a principal for Springfield Local High School in Akron.

He is survived by his mother, Lois Craig of East Palestine; his daughter, Karin Craig of Akron; his sister, Jill (Keith) Whisler of Cincinnati and three nieces, Natalie, MacKenzie and Lizzie Whisler.

He was preceded in death by his father, John J. Craig.

Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday with Pastor Mark McTrustry officiating. Burial will be in Glenview Cemetery.
