Columbiana - James Lawrence Bable, age 76, of New Waterford, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at his home with his loving family by his side.
He was born on August 10, 1949, in Salem, son of the late Lawrence and Evelyn Chamberlain Bable.
Jim had worked as an Auditor for the U.S. Department of Defense, served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of The East Fairfield United Methodist Church. Jim was a highly involved member of his community, he served on the Crestview School Board and coached baseball and soccer for many years, over which he coached numerous friends and family members. He loved spending time outdoors in his garden. Jim loved being with his family, his grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment he spent with them.
Jim is survived by his wife, Carol Enterline Bable, whom he married on March 1, 1968, two sons, Matthew (Christine) Bable of New Waterford and Aaron (Jessica) Bable of Burton; a daughter, Alisha (Robert) Auer of Lisbon; a sister, Vicki (Glen) Windram of Columbiana; nine grandchildren, Derek (Shelby Rupert) Bable, Gregory (Alexis) Bable, Zachary Bable, Samuel Bable and Benjamin Bable, Brenna (Quentin Craik) Auer, Mitchell Auer, Grace Auer and Alaina Auer and two great grandchildren, Lucas and Ensley Bable.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the East Fairfield United Methodist Church, New Waterford.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the East Fairfield United Methodist Church New Waterford, with Pastor Kari Lankford and Pastor Kristen Buchs officiating.
Military honors will be accorded by the Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion Honor Guard.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
