James A. Lewis

Leetonia-James A. Lewis, 59, of Grafton Rd passed away Sunday morning, October 4, 2015 at the Salem Regional Medical Center.

Jim was born November 14, 1955 in Youngstown, a son of Donald J. and Marcella Kelley Lewis and had lived in this area all of his life. He was a 1974 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and had been employed as a Sheet Metal Journeyman for Aerotech Mechanical Contractors, Boardman, retiring in 2011. He had previously worked at General Extrusions.

He was a member of Victory Christian Center of Columbiana and became an ordained minister in 2000. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #33 and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, playing his guitar and piano, and singing.

Besides his mother, of Youngstown, he is survived by his wife, the former Jody Vitelli, whom he married May 8, 1976; two daughters, Niki (Tony) Dolan of Columbiana and Jaime (Shawn) Teichmer of Newburgh, IN; a son, Joshua (Matt Burkey) Lewis of Boardman; two brothers, Donald (Nancy) Lewis, Jr. and Michael (Glaydas) Lewis, both of Boardman; and four grandchildren, Brendan Dolan, Jackson Dolan, Abigail Teichmer, and Keenen Teichmer.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Barbara Hardung. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Victory Christian Center of Columbiana with Pastor Randall J. Morocco officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Boardman. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
