Columbiana-August 26, 2010-After a five year courageous battle with normal pressure hydrocephalus, Jack Henry Weyman left this world peacefully at home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday night, August 26, 2010. He was a member of the Avalon Lodge 0657 F.&A.M. Masonic Lodge in Avalon, PA since 1947 and a present member of the Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion in Columbiana.
A veteran of World War II, he served with Merrill's Mauraders and the Mars Task Force as they fought the Japanese to open the Burma Road. He was stationed in Shanghai ready to go to Japan when the A-bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Mr. Weyman was part of the China, Burma, and India Theater for three years and was also a Bronze Star Recipient. He leaves his wife, Lois Resler Weyman whom he married in Pittsburgh, PA on June 25, 1949. They enjoyed 61 glorious years. He also leaves a son, David Lee Weyman and his wife, Debbie, of Mineral Ridge; two daughters, Dawna Elizabeth Weyman of Columbiana and Katherine Louise Chapman and her husband Rodney of Leetonia; two granddaughters, Jacquelyn Katherine and Madison Grace Chapman and two step grandchildren Michael and Christopher Frank of Texas.
His only brother, William Weyman, preceded him in death. According to Jack's wishes he was cremated and there will be no calling hours.
