J. Roger Wetherald

Columbiana - J. Roger Wetherald, 91, of 25 Alisha Lane, formerly of Orange City, FL, died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Wetherald was born September 23, 1921 in Bryantown, Maryland, a son of the late Joseph John and Sallie Raiford Wetherald and had lived here five months, coming from Orange City, FL. He was member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Deltona, FL and served in US Naval Air Corps during WWII. He had been employed as an installer for Western Electric for 32 years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Beverly Stanley, whom he married December 19, 1953; a daughter, Emily Anne Lake of Bowling Green, OH; two sons, Thomas E. Wetherald of Columbiana and Daniel Hall Wetherald of Weston, VT; a brother, Thomas R. Wetherald of Manning, SC; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, John Stanley Wetherald, three sisters and one brother.

Private burial was held in the Middleton Friends Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Middleton Friends Meeting House. Arrangements were made by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
