Irvin T. Treharne

Columbiana - Irvin Thomas Treharne, age 71, died at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Boardman.

He was born May 5, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Edmund Treharne Sr. and Hazel Hixson Franklin.

Irvin was a veteran of the United States Army having served during Vietnam and was a member of the VFW #2799, Springfield.

He had worked as a furnace operator at Metal Carbides for 35 years and enjoyed cooking and golfing. Mostly, he will be remembered as a very hard working man, a loving husband and a dedicated father. His wife, the former, Diana Sue Shoemaker, whom he married on February 14, 1970, preceded him in death on August 6, 2004 . He is survived by a daughter, Christina Gingher of Youngstown; two sons, Brian (Michelle) Treharne of Columbiana and Gregg Griffin of Salem; a brother, Art (Essie) Treharne of Youngstown; and nine grandchildren.

Irvin was preceded in death by a brother, Edmund Treharne Jr. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jan Winnale officiating.
