Leetonia April 23, 2004 - Irma Bell Garwood, age 98, of 41872 State Route 558 died at 2:20 a.m. Friday in the Parkside Health Care Center, where she had lived for nine years.
She was born Aug. 13, 1905 in Fairfield Township, daughter of William and Effie May Cottle Coleman, and had lived in Leetonia area all of her life.
She had been a waitress for many years at Heck's Restaurant then she was a clerk for the former Ferguson Farm Market.
She was a member of the Columbiana Nazarene Church.
Her husband, Raymond R. Garwood whom she married July 26, 1924, preceded her in death May 18, 1967.
She is survived by a son, Carl R. (Joann) Garwood of Leetonia; a daughter, Mrs. Jay (Gayle) Walters of Leetonia; a son-in-law, William Pagliarulo of Azle, TX; a sister, Mrs. Mary Kornbau of Salem; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Freida Pagliarulo on September 19, 2001; by two grandsons, Thomas Garwood on July 8, 1973 and Timothy Walters on October 30, 1987; a great grandson, Zachary Garwood on December 9, 2002; two sisters, Louella McCord and Zelda Bradbury; and two brothers, Willis and Lorraine Coleman.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Gaston officiating. Burial will follow in Middleton Cemetery.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
