Irene Wilson Mollenkopf

East Palestine - July 26, 2006 - Irene Wilson Mollenkopf, age 92, formerly of Lakewood Drive, died Wednesday evening at the Bay View Center, Eustis, FL, following a long illness.

Mrs. Mollenkopf was born June 4, 1914 in Syracuse, NY, a daughter of Albert and Katherine Kurtz Cole and had lived in this area most of her life.

She had been employed as a sewer at the former Pittsburgh Chair for five years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Her first husband, Orvil Wilson, whom she married in 1938 died in 1968.

She is survived by her second husband, Arthur Mollenkopf, whom she married in 1970; three daughters, Betty A. Macek of East Palestine, Mrs. Frederic (Carolyn) Howard of Gainesville, FL, and Mrs. James (Marilyn) Giesel of Fort Myers, FL; a son, W. Rudd Wilson of Salem; two stepsons, Gregory L. (Donna) Mollenkopf of Stewardstown, PA and Charles A. Mollenkopf of Marietta, PA; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Two sisters, Grace Byerly and Dorothy Cole are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Grace Lutheran Church, East Palestine, with Pastor Donald Pentz officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Monday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine and one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.
