Leetonia-July 25, 2011-Hughes G. "Fuzz" Taylor, 81, of 143 Walnut St., went home to be with his Lord, surrounded by his family Monday evening at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Salem.
Mr. Taylor was born July 21, 1930 in Salem, a son of Clifford and Helen Benedict Taylor and had lived in this area all of his life.
Fuzz was an enameler for the former Eljer Company in Salem for 42 years retiring in 1992. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of Solid Rock Community Church in Salem.
He is survived by his wife, the former Joanne White, whom he married October 15, 1949; his daughter Kyle (Curt) Coffee of Salem; his son, Mark Taylor of Beloit; a sister, Lynne Taylor of Salem; and two grandchildren, Ian (Karen) Coffee and Alec Coffee.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Taylor and Drylie Taylor and five brothers, Clifford, Jacques, Peter, David Barrick and Rockne Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Solid Rock Community Church with Pastor Joseph Sheely officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery where military honors will be accorded. Friends may call from noon until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.
