East Palestine, March 26, 2004, Hugh C. Clinton, age 77, formerly of Bye Road, died at 7:05 p.m. Friday at Sugar Creek Rest, Worthington, PA.
Mr. Clinton was born October 15, 1926 in Bakerstown, PA, a son of William H. and Margaret Conley Clinton and had lived in this area since 1956, coming from Pennsylvania. He served in the Merchant Marine during WW II. He was employed as a union carpenter out of the Carpenters Local #422 of Pittsburgh.
He was a member of the Lake Mount Church of Christ and was an avid sportsman. He had been a former member of the Negley Volunteer Fire Department and a former troop leader of Boy Scout Troop #96.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Barbara Jeanne) Justison of East Palestine and Connie L. Riblet of Darlington, PA; a son, William D. (Sharon) Clinton of Aurora, Colorado; two sisters, Eleanor Johnson of Negley and Margaret Colpo of Mars, PA; a brother, Robert D. (Skip) Clinton of Mars, PA; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Two brothers, Edward Clinton and William E. Clinton is deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Mr. Roy Seaux, Associate Minister of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, Rogers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial tributes may be made to the Negley Volunteer Fire Department.
