Helen E. Sweeley, 94, of Leetonia, Ohio passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the Tendercare Nursing Home, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan.
Mrs. Sweeley was born in Lake, Mississippi on January 18, 1910, the daughter of the late John H. and Jane M. (Marion) Walters. She was a resident of Leetonia, Ohio since 1935; a 70-year member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church; a 50-year member of The Eastern Stars; and was employed, for many years, by the Spatholt Hardware Store in Leetonia.
Mrs. Sweeley is survived by one son, Gary K. (Joanne) Sweeley of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan; four grandchildren, Catherine Joanne LaRoue of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, Daniel P. (Sandra) Sweeley of Buffalo, New York, Steven Anderson of Powell, Ohio, and David D. Sweeley of Grove City, Ohio; two great-grand children, Matthew and Mark LaRoue of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. Also, daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jan (David W.) Sweeley of Powell, Ohio and two sisters, Miss Marion Walters and Mrs. Harriet Fredericks of Pottstown, Pa. survive along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sweeley was predeceased by her husband, Elmer E. Sweeley Sr. (1980); and two sons, David W. Sweeley (1988), and Elmer E. Sweeley Jr. (1991).
A "Service of Remembrance" will be at 11:00 AM on July 06, 2004 Tuesday, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 19 Spruce St., Leetonia, Ohio. Interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery, Leetonia, Ohio Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia, Ohio 44431.
