Enon Valley, PA-November 10, 2008-Helen Elizabeth "Betty" Strohecker, 82, formerly of Church Street in Enon Valley, died at 11:50 p.m. Monday at Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she had resided the past six years.
Mrs. Strohecker was born August 15, 1926 in Conway, PA a daughter of the late William Sterrett and Helen Claire Graebing Watt and had lived in this area all of her life. Betty was a graduate of East Palestine High School. She worked as a shipping clerk for B&W in Beaver Falls as well as a postal clerk and acting post mistress for the Enon Valley Post Office. Betty was also a bus driver for Mohawk School District.
Betty was a member of Enon Presbyterian Church where she served on the board of deacons, Sunday School teacher, choir and Enon Women's Association.
Her husband, Ralph Alexander Strohecker, whom she married October 9, 1947, died November 18, 1995.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Diana (Duane) Herron and Nancy Helen (Duane) Clawson both of Enon Valley, PA; a son, Gerald Ralph (Lynn) Strohecker of Bridgewater, PA; six grandchildren, Jason (MaryKim) Murtha, Sheri Petrich, Bret (fiancAC.e Patricia Krivosh) Petrich, Daniel Petrich, Leah (John) Farthing and Rene Strohecker; and four great grandchildren, Timothy and Adaline Murtha, Abbey Krivosh and John Grayson Farthing.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Prudence Watt and four brothers, Eugene, Earl, Richard and Kenneth Watt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Enon Presbyterian Church, Enon Valley, PA with her pastor Reverend Richard Baker officiating. Burial will be in Little Beaver Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, OH and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Kalenak and his staff as well as the staff at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center who loved and care for Betty these past six years.
