Leetonia March 5, 2006 -Helen Louise (Dilling) Minamyer, age 81, of Old Road 344 died at 8:41 p.m. Sunday at the Salem Community Hospital.
She was born March 10, 1924 in Middleton Twp, daughter of Bartlett and Lillian Gertrude Wilson Gorby.
She had lived in the Negley/Rogers area all her life. Mrs. Minamyer had been a piece worker for Kenmar and it's successor, Ethan Allen and a member of the First Assembly Of God in Columbiana, as well as, the Auxiliary of Edward L. McGuckin Post #4579 VFW and Auxiliary of George F. McBane Post #31 American Legion and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #467, all in East Palestine.
Her husband, Ralph Robert Minamyer whom she married November 6, 1987, preceded her in death April 22, 1989.
She is survived by a son, Donald Dilling of Leetonia, a stepson, Michael Minamyer of New Springfield; five brothers Herman Gorby of Columbiana, Floyd Gorby of Rogers, Lawrence Gorby of New Waterford, Clifford Gorby of Columbiana, and Glenn Gorby of East Palestine; three sisters, Hazel Ewing, Salem; Dorothy Hostetter, Rogers; Florence Barnhouse, Bethesda; and seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.
Mrs. Minamyer was also preceded in death by a daughter Helen Duffield; a sister Susie Gorby; a half sister, Myrtle McCoy; three brothers, Edwin Roy and Harold Gorby; two half brothers, Wilbur and Roland Gorby; and a great grandson Mathew Ostrander.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the East Carmel Cemetery.
Friends may call 7-9 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
