Helen R. Butch

Leetonia-March 12, 2009-Helen R. Butch, 96, of Leetonia, died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Boardman Campus.

Mrs. Butch was born July 29, 1912 in Salem, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ernestine Colanni Morelli and had lived in Leetonia all of her life.

Helen was a homemaker and member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church where she was active with the LCBA #909 and the Altar and Rosary Society. She loved to read and crochet.

Her husband, Dominic J. Butch, whom she married April 15, 1936 died October 24, 1986.

She is survived by her daughter, MaryAnn (Douglas) Bieber of Boardman; a granddaughter, Lisa (Neal) Zoldan of New Springfield; two great granddaughters, Abigail Ann and Lillianne Grace Zoldan; a brother, Francis Morelli of Columbiana; and a sister in law, Nora Morelli of Leetonia.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Butch; three sisters, Polly DiRocco, Anna Marshall and Jennie Morelli; and three brothers, Alfred, Raymond and Anthony Morelli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia with the Reverend Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-7 pm Sunday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
