Rev. Helen R. Aiken

Columbiana, OH-October 12, 2004-Reverend Helen R. Aiken, age 78, of 105 Bay Shore, died at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday at Essex I of Salem,OH.

Rev. Aiken was born May 26, 1926 in Leetonia, OH a daughter of Andrew and Anna Burick Kovacik and had returned to this area in 1993 coming from Columbus, OH.

She was a registered nurse and worked in many aspects of the health care industry including hospital, industrial and private duty nursing.

She was also an ordained minister for 30 years with the Helen Aiken Ministries, Inc. in Gahanna, OH where she was a member.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford Aiken, whom she married June 5, 1948; two daughters, Dr. Karen (Stephen) Ball of Bourbonnais, IL and Ms. Kathleen Leonard of Columbus, OH; a son, Clifford Aiken III of Detroit MI; eight grandchildren and one great grandson.

Her sisters, Anna Murdock, Mary Eskay and Margaret Mack, her brothers, Andrew and Anthony Kovacik and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Ball preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, OH with Dr. Lynn Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Leetonia.
